Data Collection and Analysis

Throughout my career, I have been involved in various data collection exercises for evaluations, assessments, and data quality assessments. My experience includes qualitative and quantitative data collection methods such as Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), telephone surveys, and online survey design.

For a Financial Sector Deepening Activity Performance Evaluation, I conducted KIIs and FGDs, serving as a data collector and note-taker, with my findings contributing to the final report. In a Governance Activity, I worked as a survey assistant, conducting 120 telephone interviews across 40 program districts with key stakeholders, including political and administrative leaders and civil society representatives. I also coordinated fieldwork by organizing meetings, setting up interviews in six districts, and performing qualitative analysis of phone interview responses. I conducted follow-up calls to verify contribution claims collected during fieldwork.

For a Youth and Agriculture Activity, I participated in KIIs and FGDs, contributing to outcome statements analyzed through the Outcome Harvesting process. For a Nutrition and Agriculture Activity, I collected data through stakeholder workshops and interviews with program implementers and beneficiaries.

I have also designed online surveys for a baseline assessment of a new health activity in Uganda, a weekly COVID-19 tracking exercise that provided real-time insights, and internal feedback surveys on Collaboration Learning and Adaptation practices, workshop evaluations, and stakeholder opinions.

In terms of data analysis, I have used NVIVO for qualitative analysis  Gender and Youth Assessment  findings and Dedoose to analyze findings from an Agriculture and Land Governance Activity. I have also used R and excel to analyze descriptive statistics, generate visualizations for a weekly COVID-19 tracking exercise, and conduct sampling for an evaluation of community gardens.
