Capacity Building
My passion for continuous learning and skill advancement drives me to share knowledge with MEL teams. I have delivered various capacity-building trainings, equipping teams with practical skills to enhance their MEL practices.
-
Introduction to Tableau Training – I trained a local MEL firm in Uganda that provides MEL training on various software and tools. The firm aimed to introduce Tableau as part of their course offerings, and I guided their team through the software’s key concepts and applications.
-
Training on a New Indicator Reporting System – For one client, a new reporting system was introduced for tracking indicators and approving reports. As part of the MEL team that first received the training, I facilitated sessions for implementing partners and managers to ensure they could effectively navigate and utilize the system.
-
Creating Eye-Catching Infographics Using Venngage – In one of my roles, I provided internal training on Venngage, demonstrating how to design professional and impactful infographics to visualize performance indicators and general program activities information effectively.
-
Data Walk Training – In one of my roles, my team and I sought an alternative to traditional PowerPoint presentations and reports for showcasing performance indicators to their donor. I facilitated a training on how to conduct a data walk, a structured exercise where participants engage with data displayed in a virtual or physical gallery. The training covered guiding questions, facilitation techniques, and best practices for fostering insightful discussions on data interpretation and program impact.
-
Ethical Review Process Training – I developed an ethical review process guideline for Uganda, outlining the step-by-step procedure for obtaining approval from a research ethics committee to conduct research in Uganda. I then conducted a training session to guide my internal team through the requirements and steps needed for ethical research approval in Uganda.
